Siliguri, 16th March: In view of the rising outbreak of the coronavirus, the Kolkata High Court has issued a new directive, under which, the courts will be closed from March 17. In this context, the Bar Association of Siliguri Court also issued a directive in the court, today, under which, the Siliguri court will remain closed from March 17 to March 20. It has also been reported that only important matters will be heard during the period.
During this phase, the family members of the prisoners will not be allowed to enter the court. Furthermore, the lawyers will not be called in the court. Arrangements will be made to take the prisoners’ statements through video conference, in case of emergencies. Meanwhile, the Bar Association of Siliguri Court has requested the judge to conduct a thermal screening of the people visiting the court. The Kolkata High Court has also directed that no orders will be issued against a person or officer, involved in a case, who cannot be present during the period.
