Fulbari, 04th August: A horrifying incident unfolded earlier on Sunday as an e-rickshaw lost control and plunged into the Teesta Canal. Fortunately, the children playing in the vehicle narrowly escaped with their lives.
The incident occurred in the Putimari area near the Teesta Canal. Reportedly, a local resident had taken the e-rickshaw to visit a relative’s house in the said area. While parked near the Teesta Canal, the driver had left the vehicle running with the keys inside. Meanwhile, several local children had boarded the vehicle to play at the moment.
During this, the e-rickshaw left in ignition suddenly veered into the Teesta Canal and plunged into the deep water. The children were later rescued and the locals managed to retrieve the submerged vehicle with a rope.
