New Delhi, 27th January: The Government of India, Assam government and representatives of all factions of banned organisation National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) on Monday signed a Bodo accord at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). This move came intending to fulfill the groups’ key political and economic demands. Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal were chiefly present during the meeting.
In this context the Home Minister, Amit Shah, referred the accord as an important agreement and that it will ensure a golden future for Assam and the Bodo people. “1550 cadres along with 130 weapons will surrender on January 30. As the Home Minister, I want to assure all representatives that all promises will be fulfilled in a time-bound manner,” Shah further added.
