Alipurduar, 28th September: Incessant rainfall in North Bengal has led to the Bangri River in the Jamtala area of Madarihat flowing above the danger level. Many residents are now stranded on both sides of the river as communication has been cut off between Madarihat and the Totopara, Hantapara, and Ballalguri areas.
Reports indicate that the water level of the Bangri River has surged due to persistent rains in the hills of Bhutan, coupled with heavy rainfall in the district.
In the Jamtala area, the rising water of the Bangri River has overflowed onto the road, further complicating the situation and leaving many people trapped. Local residents have expressed frustration, noting that they face this issue every year.
