Naxalbari, 31st December: An application for the construction of a crematorium was submitted in August under the âAmader Para Amader Samadhanâ camp. Based on that application, work on the crematorium began on the last day of December. For the first time since Independence, Bir Singh village under Hatighisa Gram Panchayat in Naxalbari is getting a crematorium.
The foundation stone for the crematorium was laid on the same day by Naxalbari Panchayat Samiti Sabhapati Ananda Ghosh. With the commencement of the work, long-standing problems of residents from Bir Singh Jote, Ketugabur Jote, Bhelta Jote and four other villages are expected to be resolved.
