Alipurduar, 11th December: In a distressing incident, a young woman committed suicide on video call with her fiancé. The incident made headlines on Monday in the Subasini Tea Estate region located in Kalchini block, Alipurduar. The deceased woman has been identified as Rita Bhokta.
As per details gathered, Rita’s marriage was scheduled for January, with a local of the Binnaguri, Dinesh Bhokta. In a tragic turn of events, on Sunday night, Rita allegedly killed herself on a video call with her fiancĂ©. Panic triggered Dinesh hurriedly called a friend of Rita and alerted her of the incident. Following this, the family members busted down the door and found the young woman’s body hanging from the noose.
